Proudly Zimbo

In support of local producers, manufacturers and suppliers, 90% of our inputs are sourced locally (in Zimbabwe). With very view exceptions, our furniture, furnishings, artwork, deco, food, beverages etc are proudly Zimbabwean. We contribute significantly to Zimbabwe’s  economic development.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Our outsourcing process gives preference to local suppliers thereby :

• Contributing to downstream employment creation for our formal suppliers.
• Contributing to informal sector employment and capacitating our rural women communities by sourcing all basketry used for our deco from women’s clubs in rural Masvingo province. We also source all our recycled stationery from Mapepa Project, a consortium of informal women’s clubs.
• Promoting local art and artists by commissioning world renowned (Gareth Hook) and little known (Gutsa) for all our decorative artwork.
• Purposefully promoting Brand Zimbabwe by using artwork and deco that promotes our natural heritage. To that end, our artwork exposes our World Heritage sites, Traditional African (Zimbabwean) musical instruments, our wildlife etc. Our kitchen can also prepare typically Zimbabwean traditional dishes for our guest, only on request.

Eco Friendliness

Being conscious of our environment, we conserve the same at all times. To that end :

• All our wooden furniture is custom made (in a Zimbabwean factory) from solid teak obtained through controlled harvesting from managed Zimbabwean plantations, ensuring no adverse effects on the environment.
• We minimize tree cutting for paper production by using only recycled paper for all our in room guest stationery.
• As much as possible, our electrical fittings and appliances (especially fridges and lighting) are eco friendly. We limit ourselves to A++ rated fridges and LED lighting, minimising our carbon foot print and thereby protecting the environment.
• All our bed linen is made from 100% local cotton and is therefore 100% biodegradable.
• All our geysers are solar heated and all our cookers use LPG gas thereby minimising our electricity consumption and reducing our overall demand from the grid. Eventually, we aim to operate completely off the grid in a few years time.
• We have developed a very effective rain water harvesting system, which we use to maintain our lush and well manicured gardens.
